Earning Cash Back Rewards
You will earn Cash Back Rewards when you use your Card to make Purchases. There is no limit on the amount of Cash Back Rewards you can earn.
You earn Cash Back Rewards of 0.25% for eligible Purchases, other than Purchases made at gas, grocery and restaurant merchants.
You earn Cash Back Rewards of 0.5% for eligible Purchases at gas, grocery and restaurant merchants. Merchants are assigned a Merchant Category Code (MCC) based on the types of merchandise they primarily sell. Eligible gas, grocery and restaurant merchants are identified by MCCs 5411, 5541, 5542, 5812 and 5814.
Merchants included in the eligible gas MCCs 5541 and 5542 are those that sell automotive gasoline. Merchants such as truck stops and boat marinas that do not specialize in the sale of automotive gasoline are not included as eligible gas merchants.
Merchants included in the eligible grocery MCC 5411 are supermarkets, including small grocers. Merchants such as superstores, drug stores, discount stores, warehouse clubs, specialty and specialty standalone stores that may sell grocery type items such as convenience stores, candy stores and bakeries are not included as eligible grocery merchants.
Merchants included in the eligible restaurant MCCs 5812 and 5814 are those that provide eat-in dining, which includes fast food restaurants. Merchants that sell food and drinks within a larger merchant such as casinos, theme parks and stadiums are not included as eligible restaurant merchants.
We do not determine a merchant’s MCC. We are not liable or responsible if you believe a Purchase should be categorized as a gas, grocery or restaurant Purchase and it is not.
Cash Back Rewards are calculated for each transaction. If a Cash Back Reward results in a fraction of a cent, the Cash Back Reward will be rounded up or down to the nearest whole cent.
The following types of transactions are not eligible for Cash Back Rewards: ATM transactions, cash back received at merchant locations, cash withdrawals, deposits to your Account, person-to-person transfers of money, bill payments, fees, purchases not allowed under the MoneyPod Account Agreement, disputed transactions and fraudulent transactions.
All Cash Back Rewards are in U.S. Dollars. If you make an eligible Purchase in a foreign currency, the Cash Back Reward will be calculated after the Purchase has been converted into U.S. Dollars.
Receiving Cash Back Rewards
Cash Back Rewards from eligible Purchases are totaled at the end of each month and then one Cash Back Reward amount is posted to your Account on the first day of the following month.
Credits, returns and adjustments will result in a Cash Back Reward debit in the same amount that was originally earned. If the amount of credits, returns and adjustments exceeds the amount of eligible Purchases in any month, a negative Cash Back Reward will post to your Account and will be deducted from your Account balance.
If your Card is closed or is not in good standing at the time the Cash Back Reward is calculated at the end of the month, the Cash Back Reward will not post to your Account and will be forfeited. Even if you later bring your Account into good standing, any previously forfeited Cash Back Reward will not be reinstated.
A Cash Back Reward is a deposit to your Account. The Cash Back Reward will count toward the limits on the amount of money that can be added to your Account and the limits on your Account balance. If a Cash Back Reward would exceed any deposit limitations for your Account, then your Cash Back Reward will not be forfeited, but we will delay posting the Cash Back Reward until we can do so without exceeding applicable Account deposit limits. Please refer to your MoneyPod Account Agreement for a description of limitations on deposits.
You can view your month-to-date Cash Back Reward activity in the MoneyPod mobile app and on the MoneyPod website. The month-to-date Cash Back Reward amount is for informational purposes only and may not be the Cash Back Reward amount posted to your Account on the first day of the month. The Cash Back Reward is not earned until it posts to your Account. When the Cash Back Reward is posted, you will see a transaction on your Account and it will be shown on your monthly MoneyPod statement.
The Cash Back Rewards earned by each Card in your Account (except for a Companion Card) are added together at the end of the month, and the net Cash Back Reward amount is posted to your Account. The month-to-date Cash Back Rewards activity reflects all Cards in your Account except for any Companion Card activity.
If you have set up a Companion Account, Purchases made with the Card for that Companion Account earn separate Cash Back Rewards. The Cash Back Rewards for a Companion Account will not be combined with other Cash Back Rewards for your Account, and a separate Cash Back Reward will post to that Companion Account. The month-to-date Cash Back Reward activity is also tracked separately for a Companion Account.
We reserve the right to change or cancel the Program at any time.
If we believe there is fraud or abuse of the Program, a violation of the Program rules or a violation of your MoneyPod Account Agreement, then:
- we may cancel the Program for your Card and/or close your MoneyPod Account, and
- you may forfeit your Cash Back Rewards, including any Cash Back Rewards which have previously posted to your Account.
We may reverse any Cash Back Reward that was awarded in error.
Cash Back Rewards cannot be transferred or assigned.
You are responsible for any taxes payable on the Cash Back Rewards.
You agree that neither we nor Customers Bank, the issuer of your MoneyPod Card, is liable for any claims that you may have against us or Customers Bank resulting from or relating to participation in the Program.
